Dzibilchaltún and Topecito!
Dzibilchaltún is a ruina north of Merida on the way to Progreso, with mixed Mayan and Toltec influence.
A small city, it was nevertheless occupied for over a 1000 years until, of course, the Spanish conquistadors came. They built a church, which for hundreds of years was forgotten.
A cenote sits in the center of the site. Revered as sacred given the lack of lakes and rivers in the Yucatan, the Maya appreciated cenotes as much for their spirituality as for the lifegiving water they held during the dry season (yes, sometimes it doesn't rain here).

Lots of other really cool artifacts were found there as well...

Here is mamí resting on the steps of the Templo de Siete Muñecas, so named because when 'discovered' the temple had seven little wooden dolls found there. Who knows, the Maya could have called it Templo de Mil Muñecas...
A very special place, during the spring and fall equinoxes the sun rises and shines directly through the temple windows.
Lots of other really cool artifacts were found there as well...

Babybump at Coba
Babybump's first ruina... Coba. Rival to Tikal until it toppled Tikal and became the largest city in the Mayan world. Coba has the Western Hemisphere's third highest pyramid (after El Mirador in Guatemala and Calakmul near the Mexican/Guatemalan border in the Yucatan).
And making friends with the locals!

Babybump at Auntie Michelle's Surprise Party
Babybump flew to L.A. with Mamí and Papí to join family and friends in surprising Auntie Michelle at her 40th birthday party - and boy was she surprised!
Tequila was flowing at the party... of course at la casa de Tena!

Babybump also went to his first of many Dodger games, where the Dodgers trounced the Padres 5-0! Woo-hoo, go L.A.!
