Happy Father's Day

...to all the Dads, soon-to-be Dads, Grandpas & soon-to-be Grandpas out there! Babybump celebrated with family at la casa de Shah with abundant presents as Mamang Chucy showed off one of the three baby blankets she has crocheted so far, plus booties and hat, and soon-to-be Uncle Ravi proudly displayed babybump's Google gear.

Father's Day 2007 was time-on (not time-off) as Papaji Vibhu conveyed his vast knowledge of parenting and fatherhood as Joel diligently took notes.

IT'S A...

Healthy baby thus far: 1 pound, 160 heartbeats per minute, and very active. The doctor said the second (and final) ultrasound looked great.

ALLLSOOO, IT'S A BOY!!! WOO-HOO! We know some of you wanted a little niece or granddaughter...we promise we'll try harder next time. Shout-outs to mamang Chucy, cousin Jack, and Aparna's coworkers for calling it!

(Sorry for the weird angle. It was hard to get any shots at all at the clinic.)

In the meantime, we are thrilled to have such a healthy babybump, and that we know where to buy the *CUTEST* little guayaberas when we are in Merida next month!

Seanie's special dance!

Joel's nephew Sean has made up a special dance in honor of his cousin-to-be. If you were at the wedding, you remember how Sean loves to get down...boogie down, baby time!

Babybump goes to SisterSong

Along with 14 young women and 5 colleagues, babybump and Aparna traveled to Chicago for the SisterSong Women of Color Reproductive Health Collective’s national conference. Here they all are with friends and allies from California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, Pro-Choice Public Education Project, and Western States Center… Hooray for the next generation of feminists!
